Release Date 10/19/2025

Released this message on a very windy day off of Governors Island.

I went out to surf the tide-race off the NW tip, but with a very strong wind from the South there were some good waves throughout the Buttermilk Channel.

I had planned to do a little touring before, but some of the post bike-kill party people decided to tag our storage container so I had to spend a few hours repainting.

It's just starting to get cold but because of the bright sun we were still comfortable in thin neoprene instead of dry suits.

This Strava track gives a detailed profile of the day.

Here are the high-lights:

Truth: Its good to get back on the water.

Release Date 3/2/2025

I released this message off of Abaco in the Bahamas while on a trip on friend's sailboat, Tilia.

We had been cruising for a few days and were about halfway through our trip.

It has been a great trip lots of fun conversation and adventures. I hired a guide to take us lobster spearing. This turned out to be a lot more complex than i thought it would be. I assumed being able to spear the lobsters would make it trivial, but the freediving, in conjunction with the primitive Hawaiian Sling spear system made it a challenge, and it took a while berfore I got the hang of it.

We also did some beach combing on a very remote piece of land and found an amazing number of these fish trays. My initial impulse was to collect them all and cut out the nameplates, but calmer heads prevailed and we just took pictures. Subsequent research proved that most of these came all the way from Morocco.

The Strava Track vastly underestimates how difficult it was to walk on the very sharp eroded coral and limestone. It was VERY rugged terrain and my Hokas were partially shredded by these rocks.

Truth: Time keeps passing.
