I released this message off of Ft Wetherill State Park near Newport while kayaking.
It was bright sunny, but increasingly breezy day.
We launched from the "Moonrise Kingdom" beach. This is where they shot the exterior shots for the cute Moonrise Kingdom movie.
We decided to paddle North toward Newport, then crossed to the South and returned to the beach. There wasn't much surf so we did not get to do a lot playing in the rocks. The crossing back to the South was into a stiff 15kt wind and was a real workout in the plastic Delphin 150.
We had a nice lunch out of the wind and returned.
Truth: A loop is best.
